چکیده
Abstract. The CHIMERE chemistry-transport model v2020r1 replaces the v2017r5 version and provides numerous novelties. most important of these is online coupling with Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) meteorological via OASIS3 – Model Coupling Toolkit (MCT) external coupler. can still be used in offline mode; mode enables us to take into account direct indirect effects aerosols on meteorology. This also using parameters sub-hourly time steps. Some new parameterizations are implemented increase performance user's choices: dimethyl sulfide (DMS) emissions, additional schemes for secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation volatility basis set (VBS) H2O, improved mineral dust, biomass burning, sea-salt emissions. NOx emissions from lightning added. includes possibility use operator-splitting integration technique. subgrid-scale variability calculation concentrations due emission activity sectors now possible. Finally, a vertical advection scheme has been implemented, which able simulate more correctly long-range transport thin pollutant plumes.

Linking the advanced research WRF meteorological model with the CHIMERE chemistry-transport model
CHIMERE is a chemical transport model widely used within the air quality scientific community. The actual version of CHIMERE is coupled with the MM5 mesoscale meteorological model. To facilitate model development, MM5 is replaced here with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. With the accuracy of air quality models being highly dependent on the quality of meteorological drivers, th...
متن کاملSubalpine Pyrenees received higher nitrogen deposition than predicted by EMEP and CHIMERE chemistry-transport models
Deposition of reactive nitrogen (N) from the atmosphere is expected to be the third greatest driver of biodiversity loss by the year 2100. Chemistry-transport models are essential tools to estimate spatially explicit N deposition but the reliability of their predictions remained to be validated in mountains. We measured N deposition and air concentration over the subalpine Pyrenees. N depositio...

Numerical studies have been performed in order to let Polair be an efficient and robust solver. Thi...
متن کاملFully coupled ‘‘online’’ chemistry within the WRF model
A fully coupled ‘‘online’’ Weather Research and Forecasting/Chemistry (WRF/Chem) model has been developed. The air quality component of the model is fully consistent with the meteorological component; both components use the same transport scheme (mass and scalar preserving), the same grid (horizontal and vertical components), and the same physics schemes for subgrid-scale transport. The compon...
